Five student teams from across the country are rewriting the future of software — and one will soon represent the Philippines on the global stage in Japan.

When creativity meets code, the possibilities are limitless. That’s the driving force behind IGNITE PH 2025, the country’s premier software innovation challenge for university students. And after a highly competitive round of submissions, the future of Philippine tech is shining brighter than ever: five outstanding teams have been chosen as finalists, rising above 13 entries with their bold, boundary-breaking software ideas.

These visionary student developers will now advance to the IGNITE PH Grand Finals on October 9, 2025, where they’ll battle for the chance to represent the Philippines at the prestigious OGIS-RI Software Challenge Award (OSCA) — a global competition held every year in Osaka, Japan.

Sparking a New Generation of Tech Leaders

IGNITE PH — short for Innovation, Growth, New Ideas, Tech-Empowerment — is more than just a competition. It’s a movement to unleash the potential of the next generation of Filipino software talent. Organized by OGIS Philippines through FIT Academy, IGNITE PH serves as the local gateway to OSCA, one of Asia’s most respected software innovation contests.

This year’s theme, “Surrealism,” challenged participants to stretch their imagination and create software that breaks away from conventional thinking — tools that don’t just solve problems but reimagine the way technology interacts with people, data, and the world.

The Brilliant Finalists: Five Bold Ideas That Could Shape Tomorrow

Adamson University – Home Hero
A convenient mobile app that connects users with trusted home-repair professionals — making household maintenance simpler and smarter.

Arellano University – SurrealApriori
A visionary reinterpretation of the classic Apriori algorithm, unlocking next-generation data analytics possibilities.

De La Salle Lipa – Dream WeAI-ver
An imaginative AI-powered app that captures and interprets dream descriptions, blending psychology, creativity, and technology.

Emilio Aguinaldo College, Cavite – DreamSpace
A next-level productivity platform designed to redefine how teams work, collaborate, and innovate.

Mariners Polytechnic Colleges, Inc. – Historicam
An AI-powered camera app that acts as a “time lens,” instantly revealing historical and contextual insights from the world around you.

The Final Showdown: October 9, AIM Conference Center

Each finalist team will have 20 minutes to pitch their project — including an optional demo — to a panel of tech industry veterans and OGIS Philippines leaders. Judging will focus on creativity, technological innovation, feasibility, usefulness, and engagement, with bonus points for solutions with commercial potential.

The winning team will receive ₱100,000 (split between the students and their school) and an all-expenses-paid trip to Osaka, Japan, where they will take on the global stage at OSCA 2025 on December 2, 2025.

More Than a Prize, a Platform

While the prizes are significant, IGNITE PH is ultimately about something bigger: empowering students to dream boldly, think critically, and build solutions that shape the future.

From AI that reads dreams to software that connects people with services and history, this year’s finalists prove one thing: the future of tech in the Philippines is limitless — and it’s already here.

Stay tuned for the IGNITE PH 2025 Grand Finals and witness the country’s brightest young innovators light up the global stage.
